What makes COAT DEFENSE work so well?
We use a mixture of all natural ingredients to create the proper environment for skin to heal and remain healthy.
Baking Soda: One of the safest and versatile substances around. Baking Soda can be used quite effectively to change the terrain of tissues and cells quickly. And it’s PH balancing, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal. Baking Soda dissipates odor on animals, humans, and equipment ( helmets, saddle-pads, boots, wraps, etc) on contact.
Arrowroot Powder: A silky, soft and slippery powder that is PH balancing. It’s moisture absorbing, and protects against rubs and chafing. And it can absorb moisture without drying out the skin, making it perfect for absorbing sweat. Unlike commercial powders, arrowroot powder won’t leave skin/coat feeling or looking dry or chalky.
Bentonite Clay: Known for its ability to continuously draw out pathogens. These include heavy metals, toxins, bacteria and fungus, all that can cause infection and inflammation. Because it keeps wound sites dry, it allows healing from the inside out.
Cornstarch: A moisture absorbing powder that has been shown to possess anti-inflammatory benefits, soothe itchy skin, and help to calm rashes, bites, and burns.
Witch Hazel: Has anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antioxidant, and analgesic properties. Relieves itch, reduces pain and can help prevent swelling.
Argan oil: Argan oil comes from the argan tree, which grows almost exclusively in southwest Morocco. Argan oil is extracted from the kernels of the argan fruit, which resembles a large olive. Traditionally, Moroccans applied argan oil topically to treat everything from eczema and psoriasis to wrinkles and hair loss. Argan oil’s composition of fatty acids and vitamin E give it moisturizing properties that leave the natural nourishing oils in the skin and coat.
Oil of peppermint: Scientific research is revealing an abundance of potential health benefits. This includes aromatherapeutic, topical, and internal applications. It’s valued in skincare for its antibacterial properties. Oil of Peppermint has a slight numbing effect on the skin. Because of this, it is helpful for reducing skin irritations caused by insect bites or exposure to toxic plants such as poison ivy.
